Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 4, 2026
Gradus is an adaptive learning app for rigorous technical courses. This policy explains what data Gradus collects, why, and how it is handled.
Public demo
The public demo at /demo is designed to work without personal information. You do not need to sign in, enter an email address, or join the waitlist to use the demo. Demo progress is stored locally in your browser and is not synced to a Gradus account.
What we collect
- Account information — in the closed beta at /app, if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email, display name, and avatar URL. We do not receive your Google password.
- Learning progress — for closed-beta signed-in users, concept mastery scores, per-question interaction logs, and session snapshots are stored to personalize content across devices. Public demo progress stays local to your browser.
- Classroom sharing — if you join a teacher-created classroom section, Gradus may share aggregate progress summaries with that section's teacher, such as course coverage, mastery estimates, due concepts, recent activity, and weakest topics. Raw answer payloads and full interaction logs are not exposed to teachers in the pilot monitor.
- Waitlist information — if you join the waitlist from the landing page, we store your normalized email address, learner type, requested tracks, optional note, source path, and optional campaign fields.
- Feedback reports — if you submit feedback through the in-app form, we store the message, your account identifier if signed in, and the app version you were using.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not serve third-party advertising or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not sell any user data.
- The public demo does not require an account, email address, or cloud progress record.
Where your data lives
Closed-beta progress data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account identifier, accessible only to you under Gradus security rules. Public demo progress is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted as account progress.
Classroom and school pilots
Classroom sections are opt-in pilot features. A student joins a section with a class code and grants classroom sharing for that section. Teachers can view bounded progress summaries for their own sections only. Gradus does not use classroom data for advertising or unrelated commercial profiling.
Third-party services
Gradus relies on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Hosting, App Check) to run. Waitlist notifications use Resend. By using Gradus you are also subject to the privacy practices of those services where they apply.
Your choices
- You can use the public demo without an account — demo progress stays local to your browser.
- You can sign out at any time from the Profile page.
- To delete your account, waitlist entry, or associated learning data, email valleraul0@gmail.com and request deletion.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be announced in-app.
